First Friday... Jackie... in a skort... slow at 15:55. Most of the misery in the thrusters. Couldn't get much more than 5-7 together at a time.
But that's what you get when you burn the midnight oil for a few nights. Pretty sure the celebratory trip to Micky Dee's yesterday didn't help. Or the two glasses of champagne.
But I really don't care today - in that good sort of way. Christopher did very, very well on all his testing yesterday. While he demonstrates a deficiency in working memory commensurate with hefty ADHD, he tracks to the average on all other cognitive tests. I don't think in 19+ years of having kids that I've been so thrilled to see "average" on an assessment. Most importantly, it confirms the tests done 2 years ago, and sets Christopher up as the first (of hopefully many to come) known case of a child with 3q29 Microdeletion Syndrome who is not mentally retarded. The geneticists and other specialists can move forward with documenting his story, and hopefully other parents of these very rare, special kids can share a glimmer of hope.
Now, on to the birthday party.

WOD 090807
First Friday.
GORGEOUS morning. Only 63 degrees and I about bagged CF to just run a 5k along the Potomac. It is nice out - to include a full moon - it is hard to imagine that they are forecasting 98 this weekend with probably matching humidity.
Yesterday's cleans have left me "same day" sore, but it was in a new place. Normally it is the back of my shoulders that gets it, but this time it is over the top of the shoulder. Good news is it just feels like workout sore... even amount of discomfort in both shoulders and nothing unbearable.
My first WOD of the day was the sprint to Karolin's night terror at 0315 which put a damper on the energy this morning. I opted for the shorter Jackie (1k row, 50 45#thrusters, 30 pullups) over the longer Kelly and was hoping to show some improvement. Thomas got in on it with me, doing his first thrusters. The rowing was a bit slow... about 5:05. The thrusters went in 15, 10, 10, 8, and 7. I did about 1/3 of the pullups with my purple floss, the rest with the red. Time 15:10 - only 5 seconds faster than last time in May. BUT, I did it with a 45# load this time, as opposed to the 33# training bar last time.
Good stuff.
